pI searched the internet trying to find the answer to my question: How much of the English language has fallen into disuse over, say, the last couple of centuries? This has suddenly become important to me because of the latest album from Austrian electronic musician Christian Fennesz, Black Sea./p pMy own personal vocabulary limits my attempt to describe the audio imagery to you. However, these restrictions simply do not seem to apply to a mind such as the one Fennesz himself possesses.

pIt was the best of times; it was the worst of times; it was the most heavily European-flavored show I think I have ever been to. It was a night that was highly invigorating and helped get my 2009 concert series off with a bang. I was beginning to feel a bit deprived of live music, having not been to a show since mid-December when I saw The Misfits. I have to say that it was great to be back in the club watching live metal and drinking a beer.

pLong before he was the center of many various controversies, Michael Jackson led his group of brothers through what essentially served as a foundation for his early solo career. Released less than a year before Michael#39;s 1979 adult break-through, Off the Wall, The Jacksons reached a new level of success with Destiny. Arriving almost in time to celebrate its 30th anniversary, Epic/Legacy has reissued the album on CD featuring sterling remastered audio.

Born in Mexico City, this multi-talented artist currently makes his home in Los Angeles, California. Creative and always cutting edge, Beto Hale is an artist but he is more than that. He's a writer, producer, and father trying to make a living in a field we creative types dream about. His songwriting is excellent and the guy is a monster on the drums. It has lay dormant for 7 years, but in March respected dance label Global Underground will resurrect their revered Nubreed series, introducing a whole new generation of music fans to the trailblazing brand that shot names like Sander Kleinenberg, Danny Howells, Steve Lawler, Lee Burridge, Anthony Pappa and Satoshi Tomiie to international stardom. GU have selected fast rising UK star Jim Rivers to man the controls for the return compilation, and the label’s founding father Andy Horsfield is understandably chuffed.

Fasten your seat belts, kids. It's Grammy time.

Whether you love the Grammys or hate them, one thing's for sure. You can't beat the entertainment they've got lined up this year. Were talking McCartney, U2, Coldplay, and Radiohead, for starters. So even if the choices of the historically stodgy Academy make you want to throw things at your TV, at least you know you're going to get some quality music.

But the Grammys don't exactly have a very good track record when it comes to making forward-looking choices.

The Watson Twins, Chandra and Leigh Watson, have announced a tour in 2009 to promote their full length debut album ‘Fire Songs.’ The identical twins kick start their tour on Feb. 16 in Omaha, NE, and make a total of 16 stops before wrapping up at the Workplay Theatre in Birmingham, AL, on March 6. The tour visits a number of cities across the US and Canada including Minneapolis, MN; Cleveland, OH; New York, NY; Philadelphia, PA and Louisville, KY.

New Jersey post-hardcore act Thursday has a lot to be proud about. Being credited with bringing the screamo genre to the mainstream level as well as have been labeled in 2004 as SPIN magazine’s “The Next Big Thing” are just a couple of reasons why. This six-piece did not invent the screamo genre but rather took it to a new level. With all they have accomplished I can not believe they have been a band for just over ten years now. 

Currently the band is about to release their fifth full-length album, entitled Common Existence.
