International News: Summer Sonic lets slip more Splendour hints?

Stretched across two days on dual sites in Osaka and Tokyo, Summer Sonic hosted Bloc Party, The Horrors, Arctic Monkeys and Klaxons in 2007. And yes, detectives among us, that quartet of headliners was also booked for Splendour (Klaxons, though, pulled the plug). So the theory holds up!
This year, the organisers have secured some impressive top-tier names, including The Prodigy, Fatboy Slim, The Verve, Justice and Coldplay. However, there’s plenty to love (and speculate on) in the smaller print, too. Consider the likes of Vampire Weekend, The Wombats and New Young Pony Club … all bands that wouldn’t look out of place on a Splendour bill.
