It has lay dormant for 7 years, but in March respected dance label Global Underground will resurrect their revered Nubreed series, introducing a whole new generation of music fans to the trailblazing brand that shot names like Sander Kleinenberg, Danny Howells, Steve Lawler, Lee Burridge, Anthony Pappa and Satoshi Tomiie to international stardom.

GU have selected fast rising UK star Jim Rivers to man the controls for the return compilation, and the label’s founding father Andy Horsfield is understandably chuffed. “It’s been a long search, but finally I’ve found a DJ worthy of the Nubreed series, welcome aboard Jim Rivers!” Andy said. “Jim’s DJing, original productions and remixing make him stand head and shoulders above the current crop of DJs; he’s a true star.”

This mix, which was said to have taken 3 months to complete, is due for release on March 30th and will be supported by a worldwide tour. “As a fan, to hear that Nubreed was to return was very exciting, but to be asked to re-launch the series after 7 years, that was something else, something monumental,” Jim said of the honour. “I’ve been working with GU for the last 4 years and knew that they had faith in me, but I never expected to get the call.”
